Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Landscape Architect - Forestry to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and implementing forest restoration projects while considering ecological, aesthetic, and functional aspects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Analysis and Planning: Conduct detailed site assessments, analyzing ecological systems and landscape conditions to develop restoration strategies.

  • Design Development: Create comprehensive landscape designs that incorporate native plant species and hydrologic considerations to restore riparian forest ecosystems.

  • Project Management: Oversee the implementation of restoration projects, including coordinating with regulatory agencies, landowners, and contractors.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with ecologists, environmental scientists, and other stakeholders to integrate ecological principles into landscape design and restoration efforts.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits, and assist in preparing necessary documentation for regulatory approvals.

  • Monitoring and Maintenance Planning: Develop plans for post-restoration monitoring and maintenance to ensure the long-term success of restoration efforts.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in landscape architecture with a focus on ecological restoration, preferably in forest ecosystems.

  • Industry Certifications are a plus.

  • Desire to work in a small, growing, and innovative company.

  • Strong knowledge of native plant species, forest ecology, and restoration techniques.

  • Proficiency in relevant design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination.

  • Understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
